By decision of the Government of Monaco, the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE) was created in 2011 by Ordinance no. 3.095 of 24 January 2011 establishing the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies and the Scientific Council for Statistics and Economic Studies and is placed directly under the authority of the Minister of State.
The Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE) collects, interprets and publishes key data on activity in the Principality, providing an accurate overview of its economic and social environment.
The IMSEE collects, produces, analyses and disseminates statistics from government departments, the Municipality, public establishments, businesses and individuals, thereby contributing to the creation of a statistical system in Monaco. Its work promotes a better understanding of the Principality's economic and social environment, which is useful for public policy.
IMSEE also has a public service mission: registering economic agents in the NIS (Statistical Identification Number) register.
