The primary objective is to provide rapid information on trends in the manufacturing industry and craft sector, for the purposes of cyclical analysis and business forecasts.
Its purpose is to record the opinions of companies working in the manufacturing industry and craft on their business prospects. This trend is tracked by monitoring activity and variables such as past/forecast production, inventories and workforce. The results are used to produce a monthly "synthetic business climate indicator" for manufacturing industry and craft.
