The “register-based” population census provides an annual figure for the number of housing units built as at 31 December 2025, thus excluding buildings still under construction or those that had been demolished by that date. Two data sources are used: the address database of the Department of Forward Studies, Urban Planning and Mobility (Direction de la Prospective de l'Urbanisme et de la Mobilité - DPUM), for the private sector, and a data export from the State Property Authority for state-owned housing.
