Economic indicators enable us to monitor economic activity in the Principality.
Based on monthly surveys of businesses, two barometers measure the business climate and provide an overview of the economic situation and its prospects:

  • The Retail trade barometer since January 2014
  • The Manufacturing industry and craft barometer since January 2023

Retail trade barometer

The Retail Trade Barometer measures changes in the business climate in the retail trade and in the automotive trade and repair sector.

According to the retailers surveyed, the business climate rises in January 2026 declines slightly but remains favourable in the retail sector.

Manufacturing industry and craft barometer

The Manufacturing industry and craft barometer tracks changes in the business climate in the manufacturing industry and craft sector.

According to the business leaders surveyed, the business climate is improving again in January 2026 and approaching its highest level in the manufacturing and craft industries.
